Megan Marshall

Lead Teacher, Owner

Hello!  I'm Mrs. Megan.  I have been a school based occupational therapist for the past ten years. I have experience with pre-K students all the way through high school. Since becoming an occupational therapist, I have taken extensive amounts of continuing education in the areas of child development, behavior management, sensory strategies, setting up classrooms for universal design, mindfulness, self-regulation, and social emotional health. I graduated in 2013 with Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Saginaw Valley State University and have worked as a school based occupational therapist since then.

In May of 2022, our family moved to Coos Bay. My husband and I, along with our little boy Theo, enjoy spending our time outdoors both on our property and exploring the beautiful trails around us. We believe that children should have ample exposure to the outside world to promote healthy development of the body and mind.   When looking for a home, having property to explore was the most important consideration for us for raising our family.

Since moving to the area, we have experienced the struggle to find quality childcare and education for our own child. Searching for care for our toddler has made me very aware of the need for quality preschool education in our area. This inspired my career change and our family's opportunity to open the preschool.  My hope is to provide a quality education and a good foundation for our young children as they prepare to enter school. I have always believed that there is nothing more important than our children as they are the future of tomorrow.

Hannah Childress

Teacher

Hello, I am Miss Hannah! I'd describe my personality as caring, adventurous, and creative. I love to be outdoors exploring nature, especially near the ocean. In my spare time, I like to go to concerts and spend time with my niece and family outside. Nature walks/hikes and exploring the park are our favorites. Another hobby I enjoy is cooking. Experimenting with new flavors and spices can be so exciting. And seeing the faces of the people you feed, light up when it tastes so good, is the best reward! Teaching the kids to cook is just as rewarding. Watching them learn how to measure and do things for themselves, is just so wonderful to witness.

One thing you should know about me is I love working with kids. Mostly because they are so pure and bring a smile to your face. But also because they are so much fun! I've always been the auntie to all my friends’ kids. I also was a big sister for 10 years with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Reno, NV. I still talk to the family who are like family to me now. I started working with kids when I was 13. I've been babysitting ever since then, and I’ve also been a nanny and worked as a lead teacher in a pre-school.

I moved to Oregon in August of 2022 and love it so much! I was very fortunate to meet the Marshalls and be their nanny for the first year. My family and I live in the country in Coquille with all our silly animals. We are learning to “farm” and can’t wait to add even more animals to our family.

I can’t wait to meet you and your little ones and help them discover the world around us!

Creek Kids Preschool is ran out of our family home.  We live on 4.5 acres in rural Coos Bay and are surrounded by forested land.  Children will frequently interact with members of the home including my husband Kristoff, our dogs Lucy, Zoey, and Noah, and occasionally our outdoor cat Ollie may come around.  Our son Theo will be participating as a student within the program.   We are happy to schedule a time to provide tours of the program, we look forward to hearing from you!

This program is in the process of becoming a licensed as a Certified Family Childcare and we abide by the Oregon State rules and regulation.
